Is Your Year Off to the Start You Envisioned?

It’s February—and we’re already one month into the new year. Have you made the progress you were hoping for? Or does it feel like Groundhog’s Day, where you’re stuck repeating the same goals without real change?

If you’ve moved the needle, celebrate! Even the smallest wins are worth acknowledging. But if you’re feeling like you’re still in the same place, it’s time to pause and ask yourself: What needs to change? Is it a missing system or process? Does your team need new skills? Or is it about shifting your own approach as a leader?

Sometimes we get caught up in thinking we need something shiny and new, but more often than not, progress comes from digging deeper into what we already have and refining it. Leadership, communication, and accountability aren’t one-and-done skills, they’re practices that evolve as we do.

February is the perfect time to check in and celebrate any progress you’ve made. And if you’re still finding your rhythm, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to shift gears and gain momentum in 2025.

About Amy Lafko

As a Physical Therapist, Amy spent years in school learning best practices for patient care and how to put the patient first. Like so many technically skilled clinicians, she advanced to a leadership role. Spending 20+ years in operational leadership, she had an epiphany: Putting the customer first isn’t the path to success or fulfillment. Rather, the most successful organizations and practices put their people first – and exceptional customer care, profitability, and effectiveness naturally followed.
